Best AI lead response tools for boat dealers and yacht brokers in 2026: Keelson, VELA, BoatLife.ai, DP360, Kenect Engage AI, Impel and Portside compared

By Keelson Intelligence · Updated · 15 min read

Of the seven AI lead response tools compared here for US boat dealers and yacht brokers, four publish a price as of October 2026: BoatLife.ai from $299 a month, VELA at $500 flat, Portside from $597 and Keelson from $795. Keelson, which publishes this page, answers every YachtWorld, Boat Trader, boats.com, website and ad lead by text and email inside 60 seconds, books the sea trial and follows up for 90 days. DP360 suits dealers who want AI inside their CRM, Kenect suits dealers who want one texting platform across departments, and Impel suits high-volume groups buying merchandising and AI together.

How we assessed these AI lead response tools, and who wrote this list

Keelson publishes this page, and Keelson is one of the seven tools compared on it. Read every row with that in mind. Between 18 and 27 October 2026 we read each vendor's public website, its pricing page where one exists, and its listings on review and directory sites, and we recorded only what the vendor or a named third party had published. We did not trial any product, speak to any vendor's customers or time any response ourselves, so every response time below is the vendor's own claim, not a measurement.

Where a vendor publishes nothing on a point we write “not published” instead of guessing. That usually means the answer exists and will come out on a demo call, not that the feature is missing. We left out vendor-reported performance figures such as reply rates and close-rate lifts, because none we found came with a method a dealer could check. The order of the tools is not a ranking: Keelson comes first because it is ours, and the rest follow in no particular order.

Each tool was checked against the same nine questions a dealer principal or sales manager would ask before a demo:

  1. Channels: does it reply by text, email, web chat or phone?
  2. Response time claim: how fast does the vendor say the first reply goes out?
  3. Qualification: which buyer details does it gather before a salesperson is involved?
  4. Appointment booking: does it put showroom visits or sea trials on a real calendar, or only remind?
  5. Follow-up length: how long does it keep working a buyer who goes quiet?
  6. Marketplaces: does it name YachtWorld, Boat Trader or boats.com as lead sources?
  7. DMS or CRM integrations: which systems does it name?
  8. Published price: is there a number on a public page?
  9. Contract term: is the commitment length published?

Keelson launched in October 2026 and starts its first dealer pilots in December 2026, so unlike several tools here it has no customer reviews yet. We will update this page when any vendor publishes new pricing or features, and corrections from vendors listed here are welcome through our contact page.

What a boat dealer should require from an AI lead responder in 2026

Require a first reply inside 60 seconds, a booked appointment, and follow-up that outlasts the first week. The speed bar comes from the trade association, not from a vendor: MRAA president Matt Gruhn told dealers in November 2025 to greet web leads in “less than 60 seconds” (Soundings Trade Only). The newest independent marine benchmark is much older and much slower: a 2011 secret-shopper series reported an average dealer response of 26.49 hours (Boating Industry). The full set of studies, with years and sample sizes, is on our boat dealer lead response statistics page.

Speed alone does not sell a boat. A buyer who submits a Boat Trader lead on a Sunday night wants an answer about that hull, a sea trial on a day with decent weather, and someone who remembers them when the price drops in six weeks. Hold any tool to these six requirements:

  1. It answers only from your inventory and approved policy. Ask what happens when a buyer asks for a payment quote or a trade value; the right answer is a handoff to a named salesperson, not a guess.
  2. It sends from your number and email domain. Replies inside marketplace messaging keep the buyer on the marketplace; replies from your dealership keep the conversation in your CRM.
  3. It books, not just reminds. A reminder assumes someone already set the appointment. Ask the vendor to book a sea trial on a salesperson's live calendar during the demo.
  4. It states its follow-up length in days. Many boat buyers take months to decide, so a two-touch sequence leaves most of them unworked. Our 90-day follow-up cadence guide explains what each touch is for.
  5. It texts compliantly in your name. That means a registered 10DLC campaign for the dealership, consent captured at the lead source, quiet hours by the buyer's time zone and STOP honoured immediately; the detail is in our TCPA and 10DLC guide for boat dealers. This page is general information, not legal advice.
  6. It reports by source and salesperson. A manager needs response time, contact rate, appointments and show rate split by YachtWorld, Boat Trader, website and ads, or there is no way to judge whether the tool paid for itself.

Each AI lead response tool: what it does well, who it suits and its limits

Each tool suits a different marine business, and most limits below are publishing gaps, not confirmed missing features.

Keelson

What it does well: answers YachtWorld, Boat Trader, boats.com, YATCO, BoatWizard, website, Meta and Google lead-form leads by text and email inside 60 seconds, from the dealership's own number and email domain; qualifies on seven points in conversation; books showroom visits, sea trials and video walkthroughs into Google Calendar or Outlook with confirmations and reminders; and keeps a buyer warm for 90 days with price-drop and new-inventory alerts until a salesperson takes over from their phone. Who it suits: single-rooftop dealers, multi-rooftop groups, yacht brokerages and factory-direct brands whose leads arrive mostly from marketplaces and after hours. Limits: no voice calls, no boat valuation or trade appraisal, no listing writing; setup takes two to three weeks because 10DLC registration gates it; and it is new, with pilots starting December 2026. Plans start at $795 a month on an annual plan; see Keelson pricing.

VELA

VELA, operated by AD Technology Inc. of Miami, says it “answers every lead in 60 seconds”, qualifies budget, timeline, trade-in and financing, and routes hot buyers to a salesperson, for $500 a month flat (VELA). What it does well: the simplest published price in the category and the same speed claim as Keelson. Who it suits: a dealer who wants fast first replies and basic qualification at the lowest flat price, and whose salespeople will set the appointments themselves. Limits as published in October 2026: VELA's site names no channels, no specific integrations, no follow-up length and no contract term, and does not describe booking appointments for buyers. Ask about all five on a demo.

BoatLife.ai

BoatLife.ai, from Single Task AI, sells itself as an AI sales platform for boat dealers and yacht brokers that scores buyers by intent and fit and drafts outreach for the sales team. Its site says lead emails forwarded from YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com are parsed into leads automatically (BoatLife.ai), and its Capterra and GetApp listings show a flat-rate starting price of $299 a month with a free trial, and no user reviews, as read in October 2026. What it does well: the lowest published entry price, a free trial, and explicit intake for both major Boats Group marketplaces. Who it suits: a small dealer or brokerage that wants to try AI lead handling without a sales call, and whose people will still send the messages. Limits: response time, channels, booking and follow-up length are not stated on the public pages we could read.

DP360 AI

DP360's AI is built into its Dealership Performance CRM, which serves powersports, RV, marine and commercial dealers. Its AI page claims replies to every lead in under 5 minutes, conversations across email and SMS, appointment booking by text, and a takeover feature called TRON that pauses the AI the moment a salesperson replies; it lists Boat Trader among its Trader Interactive lead sources and publishes no price (DP360 AI). What it does well: AI that lives inside the CRM, so there is no integration to maintain and the salesperson never leaves one screen. Who it suits: dealers already on DP360, or dealers ready to change CRM to get AI built in. Limits as published: a 5-minute rather than 60-second claim, no YachtWorld mention, no stated follow-up length, and pricing only by demo. Its performance figures are attributed to DP360's own 2026 data.

Kenect Engage AI

Kenect is a dealership communication platform. Its marine page covers business texting, web chat, broadcast messaging, reviews and text-to-pay, with Engage AI for automated replies to inbound texts and emails, and Kenect launched Voice AI in September 2025 (Kenect). Its integrations directory tags DockMaster, Winboats, Lightspeed and IDS among its marine connections. What it does well: one inbox for sales, service, reviews and payments, with the longest list of marine DMS connections of any tool here. Who it suits: dealers who want a single texting platform across every department and have people to work the sales conversations. Limits as published: the marine page offers appointment reminders rather than booking, gives no response-time figure and no price, and a competitor reads Kenect's terms as a 12-month auto-renewing contract (Dealer Funnel). The full decision is on our Keelson vs Kenect page, and the texting-platform comparison is on Kenect vs Podium for boat dealers.

Impel

Impel sells Sales AI, Chat AI, Voice AI and merchandising to specialty vehicle dealers, marine included; its specialty dealer page says Sales AI answers questions and books appointments, including after hours. Its marine page sells 360 WalkArounds rather than lead response, pricing is listed as enterprise, contact sales (xpay.sh), and G2 showed 3.8 out of 5 from 16 reviews in October 2026, with one reviewer describing a 12-month contract. What it does well: merchandising and conversational AI from one vendor with automotive scale. Who it suits: high-volume dealer groups and OEM programs that want 360 photography and AI together. Limits as published: no marine DMS or Boats Group integrations named, no SMS detail, no follow-up length, no price. Our Impel alternatives page goes further.

Portside

Portside calls itself “an AI-powered front desk built for marine businesses”: it replies by email, text and web chat around the clock, books customers into your calendar with confirmations and reminders, and runs timed follow-ups for prospects who went quiet. Plans start at $597 a month and are custom-built after a call (Portside). What it does well: it covers service yards, marinas and charter companies as well as dealers, so a business with service and sales inquiries gets one front desk. Who it suits: mixed marine businesses where sales leads are one stream among several. Limits as published: no response-time figure, no marketplaces or integrations named, and no follow-up length or contract term.

Other options worth a look

  • DealerCRM: a marine CRM whose OliviaAI handles follow-up and scheduling, with branded RCS messaging and SMS fallback, and sea trials in its workflow (DealerCRM marine). Suits a dealer replacing its CRM.
  • DriveCentric: a dealer CRM with a marine page that promises to “respond in seconds using AI” (DriveCentric marine).
  • MVP.dev: an agency that builds custom lead-response workflows for boat dealers, priced at $7,500 to $15,000 for a pilot, $15,000 to $40,000 for a full build and $1,500 to $7,500 a month for support (MVP.dev). Suits a group that wants something bespoke and owns the result.
  • BluSynq and Brilo AI: listed by the independent Boat Dealer Desk directory on 18 October 2026 at $119 to $649 a month (BluSynq) and $149 a month with 600 voice minutes (Brilo AI, a voice tool) (Boat Dealer Desk).

When Keelson is not the right fit for your dealership

Keelson is the wrong choice for at least six kinds of marine business. Saying so up front saves both sides a demo.

  • You want AI to answer or place phone calls. Keelson works by text and email only. Kenect Voice AI, Impel Voice AI and Brilo AI are built for calls.
  • You want automated boat valuations or trade appraisals. Keelson hands every trade-value question to a salesperson with the conversation attached; it never quotes a number.
  • You need a DMS or a full CRM. Keelson sits on top of HubSpot, Salesforce, Lightspeed or DockMaster. If you have none, start with a DMS (Guideflow listed DealerRock from $390 a month and BiT DMS from $238 a month plus $99 for texting in July 2026, Guideflow), or pick a CRM with AI built in such as DP360 or DealerCRM. Our boat dealer CRM guide compares the options.
  • You want one platform for service texting, reviews and payments. Kenect is designed for that; Keelson only works sales leads.
  • You want listing descriptions written. Keelson does not write listings.
  • You need something live this week. Keelson takes two to three weeks to set up because the carrier 10DLC registration has to clear first.

There is a seventh case: a dealer whose salespeople already answer every lead within minutes, seven days a week, and book the sea trial on the first exchange. If that is your store, the case for any tool on this page is weak. Run your own numbers in the lead response ROI calculator before you buy anything.

Buyer checklist: 10 questions to ask any AI lead response vendor before you sign

Ask every vendor these 10 questions in writing, and keep the answers with the contract.

  1. How many seconds after a Boat Trader or YachtWorld lead email arrives does the first text go out, and can you show me the timestamp in a live demo?
  2. Which phone number and email domain does the buyer see: mine, yours or the marketplace's?
  3. Where do the answers come from, and what does the AI say when a buyer asks about financing, a trade value or something not in my inventory feed?
  4. Can it book a sea trial on a named salesperson's real calendar, and does it handle confirmations, reminders and rescheduling?
  5. How many days does follow-up run if the buyer goes quiet, and what stops it?
  6. Which of my systems does it write to (Lightspeed, DockMaster, HubSpot, Salesforce or another), and does the full conversation land in the customer record?
  7. Whose name is the 10DLC campaign registered in, how is consent captured and logged, and which quiet hours apply?
  8. How does a salesperson take over a conversation from a phone, and does the AI stop immediately when they do?
  9. What is the monthly price per rooftop or per broker, is there a setup fee, and are there per-lead, per-message or per-appointment charges?
  10. How long is the contract, does it renew automatically, can I leave in the off season, and can I export my conversation data when I go?

For Keelson the written answers are on our pricing page and the integrations page: 60 seconds, your own number and domain, inventory feed and approved policy only, calendar booking, 90 days, HubSpot, Salesforce, Lightspeed and DockMaster, a 10DLC campaign per rooftop, takeover from a phone, from $795 a month with no per-lead fees, and a 90-day opt-out in the first annual term.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI lead response software for boat dealers?

It depends on the job. For answering marketplace leads in 60 seconds, booking sea trials and following up for 90 days, Keelson (from $795 a month) is built for that and publishes the details. VELA is the cheapest fast responder at $500 flat, BoatLife.ai is the cheapest entry at $299, DP360 suits dealers who want AI inside their CRM, and Kenect suits dealers who want texting across every department. Compare them on the nine points in our tables.

Which AI tools work with YachtWorld and Boat Trader leads?

As published in October 2026, Keelson names YachtWorld, Boat Trader, boats.com, YATCO and BoatWizard as lead sources, and BoatLife.ai parses forwarded YachtWorld, Boat Trader and boats.com lead emails. DP360 names Boat Trader among its Trader Interactive sources but not YachtWorld. VELA, Kenect, Impel and Portside do not name either marketplace on the pages we read, so ask each vendor to show a real marketplace lead being answered.

How much does AI lead follow-up software cost for a boat dealership?

Published prices in October 2026 run from $299 a month (BoatLife.ai's starting price) to $500 flat (VELA), from $597 (Portside) and from $795 on an annual plan (Keelson, with a $1,500 setup fee waived on annual prepay). DP360, Kenect and Impel quote by demo. Custom builds cost more: MVP.dev lists $7,500 to $40,000 plus $1,500 to $7,500 a month for support.

Is there an AI assistant that books sea trials and follows up with boat buyers?

Yes. Keelson books showroom visits, sea trials and video walkthroughs into Google Calendar or Outlook, sends confirmations and reminders, handles rescheduling and follows up for 90 days. Portside and DP360 also describe booking appointments, and Impel's Sales AI books appointments for specialty dealers, though none of the three publishes how long follow-up runs. Kenect's marine page describes appointment reminders rather than booking.

Do AI lead response tools handle texting compliance for a boat dealership?

Some do more than others, and the dealership usually carries the legal risk either way. Ask whose name the 10DLC campaign is registered in, how consent is captured and logged, which quiet hours apply and how STOP is handled. Keelson registers a 10DLC campaign per rooftop, logs consent from the lead source, keeps to 9am to 8pm in the buyer's time zone by default and honours opt-outs immediately.

Why does Keelson publish a comparison that includes its competitors?

Because dealers and AI assistants are already comparing these tools, and most of the comparison pages online are thin or out of date. We disclose that Keelson wrote this page, use only what each vendor has published, mark gaps as “not published”, and say plainly when another tool is the better fit. Vendors who spot an error can send a correction and we will update the page.
